![]() Two $500 matching challenge have been announced for today’s “Your Rights at Work” show during WPFW's spring fundraiser, which means every dollar contributed is worth $3. The weekly show on WPFW 89.3FM, hosted by Union City’s Chris Garlock and DCNA Executive Director Ed Smith, runs 1-2p every Thursday, focusing on worker rights, and featuring local labor leaders as well as Verizon strikers, airport workers organizing a union and janitors fighting for a contract (click here to check out past shows). “We also have a pair of tickets to this Friday’s DC United Game against the New York Red Bulls, generously donated by my union, the Newspaper Guild Local 32035,” says Garlock. “The first $100 pledge gets the tickets!” The challenges from the CrossCurrents Foundation and an anonymous supporter of the show must be matched by $500 in contributions to the “Your Rights at Work” show today: to pledge by phone, call 202-588-9739 or 1-800-222-9739 (be sure to mention “Your Rights at Work”) or contribute online (choose “Your Rights at Work” on the drop-down menu to ensure YRAW is credited). Other labor shows on WPFW include Union City Radio weekdays at 7:15a and Labor Live@5 performances. photo: Garlock with DC Labor Chorus and Not What You Think at recent WPFW Live@5 broadcast Comments are closed.
