Breaking News: Nine of the people arrested at Monday's Poor People's Campaign civil disobedience were detained overnight by Capitol police; the arrests occurred in front of the U.S. Supreme Court where a decision on the Janus v. AFSCME case will be released any day. Yesterday's action is the fifth week the PPC has demonstrated and conducted nonviolent direct action, but this was the first time law enforcement decided to hold anyone overnight. Arrestees included leaders and members from unions including AFGE Local 12, CWA, SEIU, SEIU 32BJ and UNITE HERE Local 23, but it's not known if they were among those detained overnight. More details will be posted as available.
