With this year's gubernatorial race in Virginia poised to be a bellwether for the country, a big turnout by metro area labor activists is expected for tomorrow's NoVA Labor Canvass Kickoff (9a; see Calendar for details and to RSVP). AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Tefere Gebre will be on hand as union members talk to fellow union members about labor-endorsed candidates. Phone banking is also available for folks who prefer that, and as usual, breakfast and lunch will be provided.
