Dulles Airport and airline catering workers—many immigrants themselves— protested against the latest Trump muslim ban last weekend. The action was a collaboration between Unite Here Local 23 and the DC Justice for Muslims Coalition in response to President Trump’s second immigration order. “Most of the workers at the D.C. airports are immigrants,” said Aschalew Asabie, a utility worker at the airport. “Many of the food, retail, and airline catering workers at the airport work 2 or even 3 jobs, all at the airport, just to make ends meet.” Local 23 is building for a large airport action April 12.
