Airport Workers to Announce Plans for a Strike Vote at Rally with Hundreds of Low-Wage Workers at National Airport Tomorrow
At a rally tomorrow with hundreds of low-wage workers, AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Tefere Gebre will join elected officials and clergy, contracted service workers at National Airport and Dulles as they announce plans to hold a strike vote over the holiday season against Huntleigh Corporation. The crowd will demand that the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority ensure contractors pay their workers $15 an hour at the event, which is one of 20 happening at airports nationwide. The rally -- organized by SEIU 32BJ -- is at noon in DCA's historic lobby. Click here for details and to RSVP.
