Hundreds of contracted service workers at National Airport and Dulleswill walk off the job this morning to protest poverty wages and a lack of respect from their employer, Huntleigh Corporation. The workers will be joined by Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring, Virginia Senator Barbara Favola, and clergy and community supporters for a rally at 7:30a (see Calendar). The airport workers have received support from numerous high-level leaders including U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas E. Perez, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA), D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, D.C. Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Virginia Delegate Jennifer Boysko and actor and anti-poverty activist Danny Glover. photo: 11/29 rally at national Airport; photo by Chris Garlock/Union City
