"An evening of inspiration, story-telling, and discussion about the revival of the labor movement" is on tap for this evening as SeaTac campaign director and author of "Beyond $15" Jonathan Rosenblum speaks at the Takoma Park Busboys and Poets (see Calendar). The event is co-sponsored by the Metro Washington Council's Bread and Roses series. In his new book "Beyond $15: Immigrant Workers, Faith Activists, and the Revival of the Labor Movement," Rosenblum -- who will also be a guest on "Your Rights at Work" on WPFW 89.3FM at 1p today -- reveals the inside story of the fight that helped renew the national labor movement through bold strategy and broad inclusiveness. In 2013, SeaTac Airport workers and community allies outside Seattle, WA made history when they took on corporate and government elites and won the first successful ballot fight for a $15 minimum wage.
