The Brookings Institution has voluntarily recognized their staff’s union, Brookings United, and their selection of the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU) Local 70, IFPTE to be their collective bargaining representative. “Our strength as contributors is rooted in our shared mission of promoting workplace diversity and inclusion, ensuring Brookings is competitive among peer organizations, and expanding work opportunities for staff to better prepare the next generation of leaders,” said the Brookings United Organizing Committee in a statement. “This union is a much-needed step forward in achieving those goals.” Read more here.
