CSA’s Building Futures Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Program has won a grant from the United Planning Organization for the fourth consecutive year. “The UPO grant and staff support has made a big difference to the program over the last three years,” said CSA Executive Director Kathleen McKirchy. “It’s been a productive partnership serving very low-income DC residents and helping boost them into good jobs and apprenticeships in the construction industry.” UPO, the state entity administering federal Community Services Block Grant funds, called the CSA proposal “among the most advantageous ones to our organization.” The $190,000 grant runs through September 2017, and complements grants from the DC Workforce Investment Council, the MARPAT Foundation, the Joshua Community Fund, the Anonymous Donor Fund and the SHARE Fund all of which support the program.
