Can you join us on the bus to Baltimore?

National Nurses United, the Metro Washington Council and the AFL-CIO are sending a bus to the huge rally at Johns Hopkins on Saturday, July 20 to protest JHH’s aggressive practice of suing patients with medical debt: will you be there?

Nurses will be joined by labor and community activists for a major rally outside Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Saturday, July 20 to press hospital officials to end their deplorable practice of suing low-income community patients and their families for medical debt, and to respect the rights of its RNs to form a union. AFL-CIO leaders President Richard Trumka and Secretary-Treasurer Liz Shuler, and National Nurses United Executive Director Bonnie Castillo, RN will be among the featured speakers, along with community leaders, Johns Hopkins nurses, and other invited guests. The AFL-CIO, National Nurses United, and the Coalition for a Humane Hopkins are sponsoring the rally. “I hope you can join us,” urged Metro Washington Council president Jackie Jeter. Click here now to register and reserve a seat.
NOTE: The bus departs from the AFL-CIO at 11:50a on the 20th, drops off at the rally in Baltimore, and participants will board the same bus following the rally, returning to the AFL-CIO.
