UMC saved the life of longtime peace activist, go-go promoter and DC native Ronald Moten last year. That's why he's co-hosting a party tonight in the UMC parking lot to save the hospital, which is facing $25 million in budget cuts and possible closure. "To be clear: without a fully operational hospital in Ward 7 and 8, people will die," organizers say. The event connects the #DontMuteDC movement with the fight to save UMC, public school funding and the need for a city-wide curriculum about D.C.’s history and go-go culture at all publicly funded schools. Listen to TOB, UCB, Michelle Blackwell, Sirius Company & Go-Go All Stars perform (see Calendar for details) and learn about latest budget cuts "that imperil the lives and future of the Chocolate City."
