![]() An encampment dubbed “WMATAville” will materialize this week in front of a Hyattsville garage owned by Transdev, a private subcontractor for MetroAccess, WMATA’s transportation service for transit riders with disabilities. Today through Friday, the Amalgamated Transit Union is urging supporters to drop by for lunch, music, speeches from allies, and more – today’s 1p rally features the giant inflatable “Hump Day” camel and then at 5p, Musicians Local 161-710 members will perform -- to help ratchet up the pressure for a settlement of a new contract for the 440 Transdev workers, who belong to ATU Local 1764.
