 David Stephen is the Metro Washington Council’s new Political/Legislative Director. Stephen, coming off a stint on Capitol Hill working for Democratic Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA 13), previously worked at ATU 689 for five years and before that at the UAW’s Global Organizing Institute. “David brings a deep understanding of the local labor movement to us at a critical moment as we prepare for next year’s elections,” said Metro Council president Jackie Jeter. “I have dedicated my entire professional career to the labor movement and progressive causes, and I’m looking forward to working with the Council’s leadership and rank-and-file members to advance our movement’s political agenda,” said Stephen.
