Turning fifteen this year, DC Jobs With Justice will throw its biggest party in years at their annual “I’ll Be There” Awards. “This year's event will be the biggest, most inspiring evening we've hosted,” says Executive Director Nikki Lewis. There’s still time to sponsor the event: contact [email protected]. Set for October 15, the awards honor workers, individuals, and organizations for exceptional solidarity and leadership for workers’ rights. Retiring Metro Council President Jos Williams(left) – who helped found DC JWJ – is one of this year’s honorees, which includes Courtney Stewart of the Reentry Network for Returning Citizens, Reverend Kendrick Curry of Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church, and Jean-Louis Ikambana of the American Friends Service Committee.
