![]() With DC’s first-ever Troublemakers School coming up this Saturday, rank-and-file union members and workers across the area are preparing for what promises to be an energizing event for DC labor. Workshops will cover the secrets of successful organizing, fighting privatization, beating apathy and knowing your rights on the job. Click here to register now... Labor Notes has organized Troublemakers Schools in cities across the country, complete with skill-building workshops and strategy discussions. The DC Troublemakers School will open with a plenary featuring Metro Washington Council President Jos Williams and former Union City staff writer turned Labor Notes organizer Julia Kann. There will be additional panels on assertive grievance handling, which will focus on moving past paper-pushing and using creative ways to win justice without getting bogged down in grievances and arbitrations. Participants will choose between workshops on alternatives to picket lines, building strong and enduring community-labor alliances, and organizing on a multinational level.
