![]() The DC Labor Chorus has always been about putting the movement back in the labor movement and last Saturday’s concert celebrating their 20th anniversary was no exception. Chorus members marched into the packed Kirkland Center auditorium singing a rousing rendition of “The Internationale” and the energy never flagged as they performed 22 of their favorite songs, including other anthems such as “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” “N’kosi Sikelele Afrika,” “De Colores,” and “Solidarity Forever.” Founding director Elise Bryant directed with her usual irrepressible energy and spirit, often turning to roam down the center aisle, exhorting the audience of more than 300 to join in and become part of the Chorus. “We are a mighty chorus singing for our lives,” said Bryant, who was awarded a Congressional certificate of honor by U.S. Representative Jamie Raskin (D-Maryland).
