 As the U.S. Virgin Islands continue to rebuild and restock their schools after the devastation wrought by hurricanes Irma and Maria, the Washington Teachers Union is supporting their efforts by urging contributions of new backpacks and school supplies. The Seafarers International Union and Crowley Maritime Corp. are providing free shipping and handling. “Help provide books, school supplies and basic-needs items to students, teachers and school staff of the St. Croix and the St. Thomas-St. John Federation of Teachers,” says WTU president Elizabeth Davis.
