 Teamsters Local 730 has launched an online petition asking Safeway to delay its decision to close its local distribution center, threatening 900 area jobs. Teamsters and their supporters will be out leafleting local Safeway stores again this Sunday from 10a-2p (see below for the list). Local 730 president Ritchie Brooks urged Safeway to “work with elected officials and (Safeway) employees to try to find a way to keep these jobs in Maryland.”
