“I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and do the job I love and was elected to do,” said Elizabeth A. Davis who won re-election as president of the Washington Teachers’ Union (WTU), AFT Local 6 on Friday July 8th. Davis’s decisive victory comes as the WTU seeks to finalize a new collective bargaining agreement for 4,700 teachers. “I call on Chancellor Henderson to return to the bargaining table and finalize a contract that’s fair and equitable and embodies respect for the thousands of teachers who pour their hearts and talents into educating our children,” she said.
