The local labor movement will find out Saturday night at the 2016 Evening With Labor, where outgoing Metro Washington Council President Joslyn Williams is being honored (click here for more on Williams and all the award winners). Notables confirmed so far include Donna Edwards (D-MD4), Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-District of Columbia), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD8), Muriel Bowser (DC Mayor), Liz Shuler, Secretary Treasurer, AFL-CIO, Tefere Gebre, Executive Vice President, AFL-CIO, Brian Frosh, Attorney General, Rushern Baker, Prince George’s County Executive, Phil Mendelson, DC Council Chair and Karl Racine, DC Attorney General. Including local labor leaders, members and local activists, upwards of 1,000 are expected to attend the event, which is being emceed by Tom Sherwood, News4 reporter.
