"Fix It, Staff It, Start It!"

A contingent of transit workers and Ward 6 residents gathered at the corner of H and 14th Streets NE on Friday to demand that unfairly-fired streetcar workers be re-hired so that service on the long-delayed DC Streetcar can begin. Led by Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 689—the union representing WMATA workers—volunteers circulated petitions asking Mayor Muriel Bowser and the DC Council to intervene in a “financial and planning fiasco that is quickly becoming a human rights fiasco.”
