![]() The Greater Washington Community Foundation has awarded a grant to the Community Services Agency to help alleviate food insecurity in designated zip codes in Washington, DC. "Food insecurity, a lack of consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life, is a major problem for working families in the District of Columbia," said CSA Executive Director Sonte DuCote. According to the DC Food Policy Council, "...it is projected that the District’s food insecurity rate in 2020 will be at least 16%, with even higher rates among vulnerable populations, including the elderly, children, undocumented individuals, and unhoused individuals. "This grant will provide food assistance to approximately 365 laid off workers and their families," DuCote added. For more information email [email protected]. Comments are closed.
