![]() IFPTE 70 is now NPEU. In celebration of 20 years of organizing professionals at nonprofit organizations, International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) Local 70 has rebranded itself as the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU). The name change recognizes the union’s surging membership—which has seen a 257 percent increase in the last eight years—and presents a clearer identity to future members. NPEU represents hundreds of nonprofit professionals at organizations such as the Economic Policy Institute (EPI), the Center for American Progress (CAP), and the Center for Community Change (CCC). “Our members view our organization as the union for nonprofit professionals, and by becoming the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU) we signal that we are dedicated to helping nonprofit employees improve their work and workplace,” said NPEU President Alan Barber.
