Dick Warden, former Legislative Director of the UAW, passed away on Monday, Labor Day, of pulmonary fibrosis. In addition to serving as a legislative representative for the AFL-CIO and then for the UAW, Warden worked for Montana Senator Lee Metcalf and Michigan Representative Jim O'Hara. He also served as Assistant Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare for Legislation (now the Department of Health and Human Services) under President Jimmy Carter. There will be a service in Rehoboth, where he has been living, probably in early October and a memorial in late October or early November in DC, probably at the UAW office.
