“It's Time To March For Just Hours”
Area janitors take the streets again today to demand jobs with full-time hours. Today’s 4p rally in McPherson Square in a weeklong show of strength by the members of SEIU 32BJ, which represents over 10,000 area janitors now in negotiations for a new contract. The workers are standing up “for full-time hours and good jobs for working people in our city,” says the union. “So too are retail workers, restaurant workers, cafeteria workers and many more.” The movement for Just Hours in Washington, DC is supported by the Metro Washington Council and allied community groups like DC Jobs with Justice.
