The welding room dedication gave the local’s members “a chance to spend time together outside of the workplace” and to “show our appreciation to Mike Avery, who was influential in giving us our welding room.” The local also showed its appreciation to longtime member Dana Brigham for his contributions by dedicating the building in his name. Brigham was elected Business Representative of Local 10 in 1985, Business Manager in 1991 and in 1998 was elected IUEC assistant general president. In 2000 he succeeded Edward C. Sullivan as President of the IUEC, retiring in 2012.
The October 18 Toy Show and BBQ, “a great way to have a little fun time with the membership and their families” and a well-attended event that “keeps getting a little larger every year” and features lots of classic cars and barbecue from Brett Horton and his dad Daryll.
