Hundreds of Kroger workers and supporters braved the rain to deliver shopping carts full of petitions to company headquarters in Roanoke, VA, last Tuesday. Wielding signs that read, “Don’t hang us out to dry,” and “74 jobs at risk,” the UFCW 400 members drew attention to union employees at a Norfolk Kroger, who are at risk of losing their jobs and seniority if their store closes. “I feel like I’m being used,” said Kroger associate Shantell Taylor in a video released by the union. “It’s very important that we stand together because just one person fighting won’t be heard.” Click here to sign the petition and learn more about the #BetterKroger campaign; find more rally photos here.
