When UFCW Local 400 leaders recently traveled through the Roanoke region to find out what Kroger workers would like to see in upcoming contract negotiations, most members raised their hands to speak up on behalf of other members and workers in their stores. “There was a heavy focus on raising wages for everyone, fair scheduling and seniority,” reports Local 400. The Kroger Roanoke contract expires in April and bargaining is tentatively scheduled to begin at the end of this month. photo: Local 400 president Mark Federici with bakery and deli workers at Kroger 273 in Bluewell, WV.
