![]() Iron Workers Local 5 Business Manager Kendall Martin has resigned his position to become the General Superintendent of one of Local 5's contractors. "It is a great opportunity for me and my family," Martin said, noting that he'll "still be a member of Iron Workers Local 5." In a letter of resignation as a member of the Metro Washington Council's Executive Board, Martin (left) thanked Council President Jos Williams "for all you have done for me over these last seven years" and said that he plans to stay involved in the labor community. "You have been an invaluable member, contributor and supporter of this Council, the state federation and our Community Services Agency," responded Williams. "Your leadership will be missed. As you get ready to start a new endeavor, our best wishes are with you and your family. We are sure that you will bring the same commitment, dedication, and leadership that you provided the labor movement." - photo: Martin with his sons at the 2015 Labor Night at the Nats; a big supporter of the annual CSA fundraiser, Martin enjoyed participating in the pre-game managers meeting.
