![]() Grab a free pair of passes to LaborFest films and catch a sneak preview of FilmFest trailers tonight at the Takoma Busboys (see Calendar) April Bread and Roses program. In addition to the free passes, handy Save The Date cards -- which include the full LaborFest calendar -- will be available, and you can find out about how to volunteer at the fest. The 2018 LaborFest was also previewed on last week’s “Arise” show on WPFW. Show guests included curator Dorothy Moss, who will be leading a special May 8 LaborFest tour of her National Portrait Gallery exhibit, “The Sweat of Their Face: Portraying American Workers,” the Goethe-Institut’s Lena Jöhnk on “CINEMARX: Films about Marx” and UMD archivist Benjamin Scott Blake on the Labor History Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon and the “For Liberty, Justice, and Equality: Unions Making History in America” exhibit. photo (r) of Ella Watson, a cleaner at the Treasury Department, part of the "Sweat of Their Face" exhibit; credit: Gordon Parks; photo (l) of the LaborFest Save The Date card |
