Despite the federal open shop environment Letter Carriers Branch 3825 has managed to sign up 94.7 percent of the letter carriers in Montgomery and Frederick counties. The local has also scored some major grievance wins and the local’s website has the most hits of any branch nationally. Those were some of the highlights at Wednesday’s membership meeting, at which Metro Council Executive Director Carlos Jimenez and Community Services Agency Executive Director Kathleen McKirchy made presentations. Jimenez discussed issues the Council has supported, emphasized the importance of the upcoming election and stressed that “we are stronger when we act together.” McKirchy made a pitch for support for CSA through the combined federal campaign. photo: Jimenez (left) and Branch 3825 president Ken Lerch (in white shirt); photo by Kathleen McKirchy
