![]() The nation’s library is being downsized, warns the Library of Congress Professional Guild. The staff at the Library, the nation's oldest federal cultural institution, has been whittled down by attrition over the last decade, according to the Guild, AFSCME Local 2910. “Not only is this trend continuing but as the rate of retirements increase, the situation may get worse, Much worse,” warns Guild president Saul Schniderman.
