On June 14, the White House and the U.S. Department of Labor hosted The United State of Women Summit at the DC Convention Center to bring together thousands of people working to “change tomorrow for the #StateofWomen.” The inaugural event was designed to bring stakeholders together for dialogue and advocacy around issues that impact women and families. Kimberly Mitchell, Local 400 executive board member, was among several guests spotlighted in a film as part of the project to highlight the struggles of working women everywhere. “Big businesses are actually trying to cram the hours we are receiving into a longer day, which doesn't work for the working mom," said Kimberly in the interview.
