![]() James “Bud” McCourt (left), Secretary-Treasurer of the Heat and Frost Insulators for 14 years, was elected August 3 to succeed retiring President James Grogan (right). Gregory Revard, a Navy veteran and 33-year member, was elected Secretary-Treasurer. McCourt, a Bostonian whose first top post was business manager of Local 6 there, has been with the 30,000-member union nearly 40 years. He said he would continue work started under Grogan to adapt the union and its members to “an increasingly on-demand industry.” Under the tenure of Grogan and McCourt, the union also emphasized membership recruitment and development, specialized training, and medical research, especially into mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases that affect building trades workers.
