![]() There will be a memorial service for James “Jim” Shearer thisSaturday, August 20, at Lee Funeral Home in Owings. Shearer was ACE-AFSCME Local 2250’s former Executive Director and one of the founders of Local 2250. He also served on the executive boards of the Metro Washington Council and the Maryland State and DC AFL-CIO, and was Prince George's County COPE chair and a longtime COPE activist. He was the last of the local's three founders to pass away: President Michael W. Mooney passed away in 1997 and Harold T. Shaw, Associate Executive Director, passed away in 2005.
