More than 50 DC-area reporters and local labor communicators turned out for the third annual Labor-Media Breakfast on February 19. The informal get-together was organized by the Metro Washington Council's Local Labor Communicators Network, which includes communications staff from many area labor unions. The gathering is designed to foster better communication between area reporters and local union communication staffers and leaders. "The Breakfast allows local reporters and labor communicators and leaders to get to know each other and build the personal relationships that enable everyone to be more effective," says Metro Council Union Cities Coordinator Chris Garlock.
