![]() As the Trump Shutdown drags into its third week, federal workers and their supporters are mobilizing. Two rallies and a social have been planned for this week to demonstrate solidarity with the hundreds of thousands of federal workers furloughed or working without pay. Tonight at 7pm at the Silver Spring Civic Center, Maryland Congressman Jamie Raskin is hosting a rally that will feature Virginia Congressman Don Beyer, AFGE President J. David Cox, the D.C. Labor Chorus, as well as federal workers, local businesspeople and other special guests. Then on Thursday at noon, AFGE and the National Federation of Federal Employees will rally at the AFL-CIO and then march on the White House. Tune in to “Your Rights At Work” on WPFW 89.3FM at 1pm for special coverage of the shutdown. And on Friday, Montgomery County Councilmember Tom Hucker is organizing a Shutdown Social at Blair High School starting at 6:30pm, with food donated by local restaurants and music hosted by Joe Uehlein. All are welcome and if you’re not a federal worker, please bring a dish to pass. And don't forget to Call Your Senator Now: End the Government Shutdown!
