UFCW 1994/MCGEO yesterday announced a tentative agreement with Montgomery County. Highlights of the one-year contract – which must still be ratified by the union’s membership -- include a general wage adjustment, service increments for employees not at top of grade, payment of the deferred FY 2011 service increment, a bonus for employees at top of grade, an additional longevity step on the Deputy Sheriff and Correctional Officer Salary Schedules and an increase in the transit subsidy. “This contract may be for one year but there was a great deal of effort put forth in trying to make everyone happy, (even though) we know that is an impossible task,” said Corporal Leonette Dixon. “Being a part of the bargaining team has given me a renewed respect for MCGEO and has made me want to be more active” with the union.
