MWC elections set for March 18

Elections for the 2019-2022 Metropolitan Washington Council’s Executive Board will be held at the Council’s March 18 meeting, which will begin at 6:30pm at the AFL-CIO (815 16th Street NW, WDC in the Presidents Room).

The following list consists of the candidates who have accepted nomination (nominations were held at the Feb. 25th Council meeting) and will be voted on.  Candidates who are unopposed may be elected by acclamation.  Where more than one candidate is listed, the candidate receiving the most votes will be elected.  Three Trustees will be elected from among those nominated. The three candidates receiving the most votes will be elected, provided that each receives a majority of votes cast.

President: Jackie Jeter (ATU 689); 1st VP: Andrew Washington (AFSCME Council 20); 2nd VP: Jim Griffin (IBEW 1900); 3rd VP: Herbert Harris (BLET); Secretary: Cynthia Collins (SEIU 400); Treasurer: Eric Bunn (AFGE);

Board 1: Larry Greenhill, Sr. (IBEW 26); Board 2: Dena Briscoe (APWU); Board 3: Don Havard (IUOE 99); Board 4: Mark Federici (UFCW 400); Board 5: Chuck Clay (IATSE 22); Board 6: Doris Reed (ASASP); Board 7: Wanda Shelton-Martin (AFSCME/NUHHCE-DC); Board 8: Jaime Contreras (SEIU 32BJ); Board 9: Dan Dyer (OPEIU 2); Board 10: Elizabeth Davis (WTU 6); Board 11: Brenda Thomas (ATU 689); 
Board 12: Dan Fields (SEIU 722); Board 13: George Farenthold (OPEIU 277); Board 14: Steven Frum (NNU),  William Bates (SMART 5-1522); Board 15: Roxie Mejia (Painters DC 51); Board 16: Robin Burns (DCNA); Board 17 (will be elected later by members of the AFL-CIO constituency groups). 

Trustee: Dave Richardson (AFGE 12); Robert Hollingsworth (AFSME 2776); Dennis Desmond (LIUNA); Tyrone Richardson (Teamsters 730); Karen Richardson (DCNA); Djawa Hall (SEIU 1199).   

All Delegates are urged to be present to participate in this important meeting.
