NE labor leaders set ‘18 strategies
Over 200 participants attended the AFL-CIO’s Northeast District Strategy Session last Wednesday, including a number of local leaders from Metro Washington Council affiliates. Issues such as member engagement, the workers' bill of rights, and electing union members were discussed. “We had a great conference and look forward to bringing forth new ideas to organize and fight for our members,” said DCNA Executive Director Edward J. Smith. "I left the session energized with a deeper understanding of the AFL-CIO's strategic priorities," said Sonte DuCote, Assistant Executive Director of the Community Services Agency of the Metro Washington Council, AFL-CIO.
