Less than two weeks after a group of software engineers in San Francisco and Washington filed a petition to join a union and just days before a union election hearing, the workers were laid off. Another engineer who was part of the organizing drive at Lanetix Inc. was fired earlier in the year. The Washington-Baltimore News Guild, which was organizing the engineers, has filed charges with the National Labor Relations Board. “We believe one of the most anti-union things you can do is to let all employees go,” said News Guild Executive Director Cet Parks. “We’re going to fight as hard as we can.” Read more in Bloomberg Law.
