A “good samaritan” off-duty DC firefighter helped save a man’s life late last month on his way home from work. Robert Goodwin of Truck 16 leapt into action when he noticed an overturned car partially submerged in a water retention pond. He used his ladder to help carry the driver safely to land and performed CPR until EMTs arrived. “We are very proud of Brother Goodwin for a job well done,” said IAFF Local 36, “[and proud] of the men and women of the DC Firefighters Association who always give their all — on and off of the clock.” photo courtesy IAFF Local 26 Comments are closed.
