Painters Demand Vote Count at Tito
With a huge inflatable boss, noisy drumkit and screeching airhorn, Painters District Council 51 and allies from other construction trades raised a ruckus outside the Georgia Avenue offices of Tito Contractors Tuesday morning. "Count the votes" demanded DC 51's James Coats through his bullhorn. More than 100 workers voted in a union election back in February but their ballots have been impounded because of challenges from Tito. The Painters plan to continue their demonstrations every morning this week.
