 With immigrant rights issues dominating the news in recent weeks, led by President Trump’s travel ban and plans to build a wall on the Mexican border, many in the labor movement are wondering how they can support immigrant members of their unions. The upcoming “Protecting Immigrant Members Training” will focus on how to support such members as well as best practices for doing so. “We’re looking for experienced facilitators to assist us,” says Megan Fitzgerald of the Metro Washington Council, which is organizing the training; reach her at mfitz[email protected].
