This year’s NoVA Labor dinner drew its largest crowd ever, “more than 400 attendees,” reports NoVA Labor president Virginia Diamond. Awardees included AFA president Sara Nelson for Excellence in Leadership, the Didlake strikers (LiUNA 572) for courage in standing up to a company that refuses to allow workers with disabilities to organize, along with AFGE, ATU, the Carpenters and the Arlington County Democratic Committee. “The Dave Marsh band from AFM provided the music, and NATCA's Ann Marie Sullivan sang the national anthem,” Diamond says.
