The association representing informal economy workers in Zimbabwe is challenging the government's move to ban market vendors in Harare. More than 90 percent of the workforce labors in the informal economy and 85 percent or more Zimbabweans are seeking decent work. "These people are trading in streets for one simple reason: to earn a living in a harsh economy because there is no formal employment opportunities," says the Zimbabwe Chamber of Informal Economy Associations (ZCIEA).
