A bill bolstering pensions for law enforcement officers in Western Maryland passed the Maryland House of Delegates, despite a “no” vote from one Western Maryland Republican. “We are glad the bill passed,” said UFCW Local 1994 rep Lisa Blackwell-Brown, who represents 50 members of the Cumberland Police Department. “We are surprised anyone would vote against people who are tasked to protect us.” Read more about the legislation here.
