![]() A month-old New England telecomm worker strike arrives in DC Monday at 5p when supporters of striking Fairpoint workers will rally at the J.W. Marriott Hotel at 14th and Pennsylvania Ave NW. Nearly 2,000 IBEW and CWA members at FairPoint Communications, northern New England’s largest telecommunications provider, have been on strike since October 17th after management demanded more than $700 million from the workers and then walked away from the bargaining table... Angelo, Gordon & Co.—a major hedge fund and investment manager of many public pension funds—is the largest owner of FairPoint and has a director on the company’s board, who will be speaking today at the Biznow real estate conference at the Marriott. "We have to send a message to FairPoint's Wall Street investors," said Dennis Trainor, Assistant to the Vice President of District 1 of the CWA. "We will continue to support our sisters and brothers in northern New England as long as this struggle for good jobs and quality service continues. Their fight is our fight against these wolves of Wall Street."

Great as the unions continue to fight a loosing agenda we members loose our homes. Sickening in the year 2014, we still have no choice to work other then scab. We already make far more then most up here.
