![]() Close out your summer – or launch your Fall – with your choice of Labor Day weekend activities. Against the backdrop of the changing transit scene in the District of Columbia, Robert Molofsky -- General Counsel for the Amalgamated Transit Union -- at Saturday's Labor on the Bimah will discuss how the local community came together to battle and win justice for transit workers and those they serve in the face of a frontal attack on decent wages, benefits and worker health and safety. Then on Sunday, it's Peruvian chicken, face painting, a moon bounce and more -- including local political leaders -- at NoVA Labor's annual picnic. Sunday night, join fellow union members at the annual Labor Night at D.C. United as the home team takes on Atlanta United; $5 from each ticket goes to CASA, the Latino and immigration advocacy-and-assistance organization based in Maryland. Then on Monday, tune in for the 2018 Labor Day Special on WPFW 89.3 FM, starting at 8a, hosted by Bill Fletcher and Chris Garlock. The weekend wraps up with the annual Greenbelt Labor Day Festival Parade and a bilingual Labor Day Mass honoring workers and their unions at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Arlington.
