![]() UFCW Local 1994/MCGEO – “The union that makes Montgomery County go!” -- celebrated its silver anniversary on Saturday night with a gala dinner dance. Highlights of the festivities included video well wishes from UFCW International President Marc Perrone and sister local UFCW 400. Local 1994 president Gino Renne, who’s led the union since its’ founding 25 years ago in 1994, presented awards to founding members and local leaders, and honored former Montgomery County Executive Sidney Kramer, the first County Executive to negotiate a labor agreement with the union, with a President’s Legacy Award and Senator Ben Kramer with a Champion of Labor Award. Kramer “has been our most ardent supporter and our first line of defense against privatization of the Department of Liquor Control,” Renne said.
